Choosing the Correct Pad - Part IV

Ok, now you have a backing plate, pad and a machine so you are ready to go. When placing the pad on the machine, it is very important to “prime” the pad. Priming is also known as “seasoning” the pad. It is done by misting a dry pad one or two times before using. You never want to use a dry pad on the surface. This will make everything work a lot better as a system. Simple priming can be done with tap water or a quick detailer spray. You do it just once at the beginning of your polishing. After the pad has polish on it, it is good to go.
